The survey, which surveyed over 2,000 people in China and India, was conducted by travel consultancy Kayak and was conducted between July 5 and July 9.
It also includes responses from visitors from the United Kingdom, South Korea, the United Arab Emirates, Japan and the Netherlands.
It is the first survey of its kind to assess the popularity of destinations in each country and also includes information on how tourists travel to the different countries.
The United Kingdom is still the most visited destination in Asia, according the survey with more than 2 million people taking part.
The survey was conducted in the wake of the Brexit vote and has also led to an increase in tourism in the UK.
However, Japan is now the most sought-after destination for international visitors, with more people visiting the country than any other country.
In contrast, South East Asia has seen a sharp decline in the last few years, with Indonesia and Thailand ranked at the bottom of the rankings.
The report is part of a wider series of rankings which is being compiled by travel agent Kayak which aims to help travelers plan their trip to destinations around the world.
According to Kayak, the survey reveals that while the United Nations Population Division has been predicting that China will overtake Japan as the world’s most populous country by 2030, the trend has not yet taken place.
